Special Education

Special Education is specially designed instruction that meets the unique needs of a child who has been identified as having a specific learning disability. If a student is found to have one or more of the 13 qualifying conditions, any services deemed necessary are provided free of charge by Lake Havasu Unified School District. Learning disabilities cover a wide spectrum of disorders ranging from mild to severe and can include mental, physical, behavioral and emotional disabilities.

To qualify for special education services, the school's IEP (Individual Education Plan) team must determine that a child has one or more of the following conditions, as defined by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), which adversely affect the student's educational performance.
