Assessment

Student assessment is a meaningful part of student learning and instructional planning. Assessments allow educators to monitor student progress and the effectiveness of instructional strategies. At certain times throughout the year, students are given required assessments that fulfill legislative requirements or district guidelines.

Curriculum

With a focus on fostering critical thinking, creativity, content expertise, and civic literacy, LHUSD continuously refines and develops curriculum that not only meets academic standards but also inspires a lifelong love of learning. Through collaboration with teachers, administrators, and community stakeholders, LHUSD strives to empower every student with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in an ever-evolving world.

English Language Learners

Lake Havasu Unified School District is dedicated to providing a high-quality education for all students and to providing the necessary supports for our English language learners to reach their full potential. In order to do so, LHUSD utilizes the Pull-Out Model of instruction.  LHUSD uses data from instruction and assessments to help guide important instructional decisions that will impact student proficiency levels in reading, writing, and oral speaking skills.

Gifted Program

The mission of Lake Havasu Unified School District is to nurture academic excellence and improve student achievement among all students. The Lake Havasu Unified School District recognizes that gifted students have unique educational needs and is committed to enabling them to develop their extraordinary abilities.
